Ten-year-old science lovers Maya Johnson and Jayden Carter are excited to present their newest invention at the school STEM showcase when a strange citywide glitch suddenly shuts down phones, computers, traffic lights, and communication systems. The source is revealed to be the mysterious villain Dr. Static, who has launched a device that scrambles all signals across the city. With help from their brilliant mentor Professor Watts and floating AI assistant Spark, Maya and Jayden begin a mission to understand the science behind waves and communication. School for her was a place of safety, where she was allowed to use her imagination to bring excitement to what she was learning. Like most children, Denise did face disruptions in her education. These disruptions came from peer pressure, unprepared teachers, and also her socioeconomic background and low self esteem.
